Voopoo VINCI Spark 100 Review

Voopoo has produced 14 VINCI Kits, and all of them have been pod kits. However, the new VINCI Spark 100 Kit marks a shift —it is now a traditional tank and external battery mod kit. And, oh yeah, it is now a sub-ohm.

As a fan of the VINCI series, I found Voopoo’s shift interesting and surprising. For this reason, I’m thrilled to get the chance to take an early look at the VINCI Spark 100 Kit and see whether Voopoo was wise enough to ditch the acrylic pods for an old-school sub-ohm vape tank.

Review Summary: The VINCI Spark 100 Kit was a risky undertaking for Voopoo but one I’m glad they undertook. It’s great to see old-school vape designs combined with modern considerations of simplicity.

Review Disclosure: Voopoo sent over the VINCI Spark 100 Kit for me to check out, and I’ve been putting it to the test this past week. While I’m grateful for their support, I want to make it clear that my review will be completely honest.

Also worth mentioning is that the sample kits I receive are ordinarily intended for an international market. However, this unit is fully compliant with TPD legislation, giving me the exact same experience using it as anyone reading in the UK will have.

Packaging and Labels

The Voopoo VINCI Spark 100 Kit arrives in a cardboard box covered in a glossy white and holographic sleeve.

  • The front of the sleeve shows the company logo and product name at the top, with a detailed photo of the kit beneath it. A TPD health warning covers the bottom third of the sleeve’s front.
  • One side of the sleeve lists features such as the PnP X Platform, a unique LED display system, and a QR code. The other side shows an authenticity hologram.
  • The back of the sleeve features the contents list, contact information for the manufacturer, and a health warning.

Under the sleeve, we are confronted by a thin white cardboard envelope and a white box beneath that. The envelope contains the device’s user manual, while the box contains the included USB Type-C charging cable and a spare PnP-X coil.

Finally, beneath the envelope, we see the kit held securely in a cardboard segment, with the mod to the right and the tank to the left. A spare 2ml glass tube is beneath the UFORCE-X Nano Tank, which already has a PnP-X coil installed.

Build Quality

Score: 4 out of 5

The Voopoo VINCI Spark 100 Kit has a blocky, hard-edged design yet is compactly built and fits very comfortably in the palm. It’s noticeably lightweight at 157g, particularly compared to other Voopoo sub-ohm kits like the DRAG 5.

Mod

The device’s ‘face’ has a 0.96″ TFT colour screen with all the essential spec readouts regarding battery charge, power settings, and coil health. Above the screen is a large silver firing button, and beneath the screen are two small black buttons used for power adjustment and menu navigation.

Beneath these is a final switch, which locks all the aforementioned buttons and prevents pocket firings or accidental power adjustments.

The battery bay door pulls off easily enough, as it’s held on with magnets. The battery bay itself has clear labels showing which way the battery goes in. It also features a removal ribbon under where the battery will sit.

The other side of the mod features a unique LED panel that connects via magnets. The panel has 144 tiny LEDS that replicate a twinkling night sky.

When the fire button is held down, it adds shooting star patterns to the panel and shows arrows moving up when the mod is charging. Although it is just for aesthetics, I can’t deny it’s very eye-catching, and the ability to turn it off is a lovely touch.

There are also two night-sky-based themes.

Tank

The UFORCE-X Nano Tank is fantastic, screwing on with the usual 510 thread connection and featuring easy coil insets, simple quarter-turn refills, and a top-based airflow to prevent e-liquid spills.

Mod

Photo showing the 100W max output of the Vinci Spark 100

The VINCI Spark 100 can deliver up to 100W of wattage, which is enough for both RDL and DTL vaping. It also features many user modes and optional customisations than many of today’s one-function pod kits.

The good thing is that there is a beginner-friendly user mode: Smart mode.

Smart mode is technically the device’s default mode. It uses the onboard proprietary GENE.AI 2.0 chip to detect your coil’s ohmage and set the correct wattage that won’t burn the coil out. This mode also prevents you from increasing the power to a coil-damaging range.

The other available modes are RBA, which gives you total no-restrictions control over the power settings, and Eco, which uses less power to keep your 18650 battery going longer.

The kit doesn’t also disappoint in terms of delivering consistent performance.

During my test, I alternated between an 85% battery and one with a 19% charge, both firing at the same rate. Honestly, there is no noticeable dip in vapour production or flavour.

Tank

Photo showing how to use the included tank in the Vinci Spark 100

The UFORCE-X Nano Tank has a classic charm to it. The wide-bore mouthpiece is very comfortable, and the raised airflow eliminates leak issues. The number markers added to the airflow ring are a great feature I’ve not seen before. And I found both the quarter-turn refill and push-to-fit PnP-X coil installation methods very streamlined and easy to use.

Ease of Use

Score: 3.5 out of 5

As mentioned above, the VINCI Spark 100 does have user-friendly functions activated by default, yet it might be confusing to some new vapers.

The VINCI Spark 100 feels aimed at an older audience that recalls once-popular mod and tank setups and knows how to use and maintain them.

In truth, the VINCI Spark 100’s modes and functions aren’t too advanced. There are only three user modes, after all. But I feel that the animation on/off and LED on/off options could have been put in the same segment, as the page-long menu risks scaring off new users.

Battery Life

Score: 4.5 out 5

I appreciate Voopoo’s decision to use an external 18650 battery (sold separately). The primary benefit of removable battery mods is that in case of battery cell death or forgetfulness regarding charging, you can swap out your dead/depleted battery for a charged spare you carry. Oh, there is also a 2A Type-C USB fast charging port.

In addition, the aforementioned Eco mode does a great job of limiting the amount of power used when vaping, even when using higher wattage outputs.

Flavour Output

Score: 4 out of 5

The UFORCE-X Nano Tank utilises the now long-running PnP-X coil series, which draws upon the collective brilliance of the PnP, TPP and ITO coil ranges.

The main benefit of the PnP-X coils is a blend of longevity and flavour purity, with each coil able to withstand atomising 100mls of e-liquid before needing to be replaced.

The top-airflow slider on the UFORCE-X Nano Tank can also assist the coils’ flavour production. Closing the slider most of the way and tightening the intake can give an even more powerful flavour hit.

Summary

The VINCI Spark 100 Kit was a risky undertaking for Voopoo but one I’m glad they undertook. It’s great to see old-school vape designs combined with modern considerations of simplicity and hand comfort. While some aspects of the menus may confuse brand-new vapers, the kit’s intended sub-ohm audience will love the convenience.

The MIST Favourite Feature:

  • External 18650 Battery: It’s always great to remove your vape’s battery, whether to replace it with a freshly charged one or dispose of a dead battery unit rather than an entire vape mod.
