Ahhh, the Argus; never before has there been such a popular range of vape kits with such a questionable name. Why “Argus”, anyway? Zeus’ son? Odysseus’ dog? Eh, who cares? What matters is that the Argus vapes have been highly successful because they’re simple to use and taste amazing.
With the recent release of the Argus G3, Voopoo has done what we all anticipated: the Argus G3 Mini, a stripped-back and streamlined version of the more advanced kit. And once again, I’m ready to roll up my sleeves, unseal some delicious e-juice, and see whether the Argus G3 Mini is up to walking in the footsteps of its Olympian forebears.

Build Quality
Score: 4.3 out of 5
The Argus G3 Mini has tiny dimensions, as you probably guessed it might. Measuring 97.9mm x 25.8mm x 13.7mm, it is one of the most compact pod kits released this year, but don’t let its size deter you from its reliability.

The aluminium alloy casing delivers a build that’s both lightweight and relatively sturdy. I mean, don’t go dropping it into a rock quarry, but there’s no evident fragility to the device. You can give it a good, hard squeeze, and there’s no ‘creakiness’ to it whatsoever.

Voopoo are pretty proud of the ‘Clous de Paris’ patterning that flows down the sides of the device. I don’t know, to me it just looks like a diamond grid, but hey, I’m glad they’re proud of it. It’s nice to look at and provides a decent grip!

As was somewhat expected, the Argus G3 Mini is buttonless and screenless, featuring a simple slit on the front through which an LED shines to indicate your current battery level. We’ll go into the battery more in the relevant section near the end of this review, but I have good things to say about it!

I was a little surprised by the lack of airflow control. That’s something Voopoo often makes an effort to include. However, many smaller kits these days are being designed to attract those nostalgic for disposable vapes, and in light of that, the fewer features, the better.

Finally, the Argus G3 Mini is, of course, compatible with the Argus Pod range, including the new pods made with the Icosm-Code 2.0 design philosophy. The pods are still magnificently comfortable and easy to refill through the side-hatch.
Performance
Score: 4.4 out of 5

Performance-wise, the Argus G3 Mini does as fine a job as you would expect any kit from this illustrious range. Sure, it’s missing power adjustment and other customisations, but it relies on a decent smart function to automatically give you the optimal wattage for your chosen pod’s ohm.
The device can manage a maximum output of 30W, which is pretty darn impressive for such a palm-sized pod kit. Admittedly, it’s annoying (to me) that you can’t set the power yourself, but then I remember “that’s what the full-size kit is for!”
Your responsiveness to the draw-activation is very rapid, too, meaning you won’t be left hanging between taking a drag and getting a nice mouthful of tasty vapour.
Ease of Use
Score: 5 out of 5

Oh heck, I’d be impressed to see someone misuse this device! I’m curious about ways you could misuse it. Hm. Using high-VG juice and ruining a coil, or trying to drag on an empty pod. I think that’s it! Yeah, those are legitimately the only things you could ‘do wrong’ with the Argus G3 Mini.
As I’ve mentioned, the device is as easy to use as a disposable vape. And that should speak volumes!
Battery Life
Score: 4.7 out of 5

I was looking forward to this part! The Argus G3 Mini – which again I MUST emphasise is tiny and pocketable – has a very impressive 1350mAh battery within.
Now, is that as large as some other similar kits? No, many larger kits in this style manage 1500mAh. But to have a device SO MUCH smaller than the original shave off barely 150mAh? That’s an impressive degree of battery retention, and I must congratulate Voopoo on that.
It’s really nice to have a smaller kit that you don’t have to carry battery anxieties with, and that alone makes the G3 Mini a worthwhile purchase in my opinion!
Flavour Output
Score: 4.6 out of 5

The Icosm-Code 2.0 Argus pods are exceptional! The flavour is rich and delicious, and I can’t detect any of that ‘cottony’ flavour that old coils used to impart.
Voopoo has always cared about flavour, and the golden cotton used in the new coils ensures long pod lifespans. That’s not just great flavour; that’s less money spent on pods and more cash to spend on e-liquid.
Summary
The Argus G3 Mini is a fantastic Voopoo kit, not merely a smaller version of the Argus G3 but a solid choice for portability, battery longevity and flavour production.
Those who NEED airflow control and wattage adjustment should consider the larger kit, but those who want pure, tasty convenience will not be disappointed.
The MIST Favourite Feature:
- 1350mAh Battery: I’m seriously impressed with the size of the battery in the Argus G3 Mini. Cramming an entire 1350mAh – that’s more than DOUBLE the charge capacity a lot of disposable vapes had – in a vape that’s tiny enough to fit neatly into a breast pocket? Masterstroke.
