IVG Pro Prefilled Kit Review

You may have believed that the UK’s upcoming ban on disposable vapes this summer would result in you seeing fewer palm-sized rainbow-hued plastic kits around. However, the truth is you’re going to see MORE of them — more advanced and flavoursome than ever, with charge ports ensuring the ‘disposable’ mantle is shrugged off like an out-of-fashion shawl.

Several brands are already pivoting to “disposable alternatives.” One device leading this charge is the IVG Pro. I’ve been using the Pro all week to see if IVG finally cracked the post-disposable design puzzle.

Packaging and Labels

The IVG PRO comes in a tall rectangular cardboard box.

  • The front shows an image of the kit within, next to the IVG logo and above the flavour of the e-liquid contained in the kit. Below is a TPD-compliant health warning.
  • One side of the box very helpfully illustrates how to put the kit together out of the box, with colour diagrams and a QR code for anyone who wants online instructions.
  • The other side of the box lists features like 20mg strength, a 1000mAh battery and “Up to 10k Puffs!” There is also an authenticity sticker.
  • The back of the box lists ingredients, health warnings, technical specifications, and contents. Beneath all of this is another TPD health warning.

We open the box and find three sealed components and a folded instruction pamphlet. The sealed elements are the device itself, a 10ml prefilled e-liquid bottle, and a prefilled 2ml pod to which the bottle will attach.

There is a sticker to remove from the base of the device that covers the airflow ports, as well as a sticker on the pod base and rubber stoppers on the pod and e-liquid bottle. These can all be removed and disposed of as you assemble the kit.

Build Quality

Score: 5 out of 5

Are you surprised that a budget simple-use kit gets a perfect build score? Let me break that down for you, dear reader.

The IVG PRO is a basic bit of kit, certainly. But in terms of reliable construction, considering the job it’s intended for? You couldn’t ask for better.

The build is almost entirely plastic, except for the hidden guts and metal connection points in the device and on the pod. The plastic used is much nicer than the kind ordinarily found in disposable vapes, with no ‘creakiness’ when squeezed.

In fact, I had to chase up IVG about what materials were used in the device because I was 50/50 on whether it was high-quality acrylic or a very low-weight zinc alloy.

I found it has lovely gripping dimensions, fitting very comfortably in my palm, fist, and pocket. Admittedly, it’s a little bulkier than some vape kits, but it won’t blow out your pockets like a sub-ohm kit might.

The device features a small LED battery indicator on the front that gradually works down from 100% to 0%. Of course, it also has a USB-C charging port to help you get your 1000mAh battery back on its feet.

The flat base means it can be stood up when not in use. That might sound odd, but that was a big thing I disliked about the Voopoo Argus Bar Prime! I like a vertical vape. Sue me.

The pod and bottle design is very clever but easy to figure out, particularly with the helpful illustrations on the box.

How to set it up, you ask?

Remove the stickers and stoppers, push them together until they click, and drop the now-connected bottle and pod into the device. Bam. Done. Finito. You’re ready to puff.

While you can toss it away, I held onto my rubber mouthpiece stopper, which gave me some peace of mind when the kit rattled around in my linty backpack.

Performance

Score: 4 out of 5

The kit performs its job very well. As seen in the build quality segment, the IVG PRO is a buttonless device that relies entirely on draw activation to be fired.

I didn’t notice any delay between drawing from the pod and atomisation beginning, so the device’s air-detection technology is exact and sensitive.

I’ve taken a single point off the performance rating because I’m frustrated by the lack of airflow adjustment. It would have been so easy to whack a slider on there somewhere. Also, similar kits include an Eco mode.

IVG PRO does its job brilliantly; however, they could have included a couple more features to perfect the project.

Ease of Use

Score: 5 out of 5

If you have two hands and can see images well, then you’re more than capable of assembling the IVG PRO. While at a distance, certain aspects of the initial assembly might seem a bit technical-looking, it’s much easier than it looks.

The very helpful illustrations on the box show how to put the kit together. It’s as easy as lining up the edges on the pod and bottle and pushing until there’s a click. At that point, you just drop it into the device, and that’s it—ready to vape.

There is no maintenance to speak of, and you need not keep an eye on anything besides battery levels and e-liquid contents, both of which can be accurately gauged with a quick glance.

So, I give it full marks for ease of use because I just don’t see how you could possibly use it incorrectly!

Battery Life

Score: 4.5 out of 5

The kit contains a 1000mAh battery. We’re in a fascinating little slice of time where that’s both impressive (compared to a disposable) and a bit low (compared to most refillable kits of similar size).

So, on paper? Eh. Actual use-case? It’s fine! Great, even!

Charging port of the IVG Pro 12

The device doesn’t fire at high outputs, so the battery charge tends to last quite a long time. The LED screen shows the battery depleting in real-time, and it takes quite a long time to drain the battery halfway.

Once you do, USB-C charging will quickly get your device back on its feet. So, while, as mentioned above, I think an Eco mode would have been welcome, it’s still a great battery cell with quick charging.

Flavour Output

Score: 5 out of 5

Different flavours of the IVG Pro 12

IVG dipped into their flavour trove for these juices! I’ve been fond of I Vape Great’s e-liquids for a while now, and the 15 IVG PRO flavours remind me a lot of the IVG 6000 and IVG Bar Favourites lines of nic salts.

Now, remember these are VERY SWEET flavours, with strong fruity and sugary profiles, and what tastes like a certain degree of extra sweetener added. Most vapers are likely to enjoy them, but if you’re in subtle or peculiar flavours, look elsewhere because the IVG line is a selection of popular fan favourites.

My personal favourite flavour from the IVG PRO range is Lemon Lime. IVG have always handled citrus flavours very well, and this take on the classic sour duo was unique. The lemon has a rare sweetness to it, which is elevated by the tart rind and juice of the verdant limes. Exotic, familiar, refreshing and moreish!

The other flavours in the range are as follows:

  • Fizzy Cherry: A tangy blend of cherry juice and chewy candy
  • Blue Raspberry Ice: A sour berry shock with a cooling note of ice
  • Classic Menthol: Pure and simple cool arctic blasts of botanical menthol
  • Pineapple Ice: Tangy paradise fruit with a frosty backnote
  • Strawberry Raspberry Cherry: A trio of juicy red berries and pitted fruits
  • Red Sour Raspberry: The a zesty raspberry blend with an extra note of sour fruit
  • Strawberry Watermelon: Luscious tropical melon meets sweet summer strawberries
  • Strawberry Ice: Juicy berry sweetness with an edge of frost
  • Double Mango: Pure mango delight with no distractions
  • Pink Lemonade: Sparkling citrus beverage with a tart berry note
  • Kiwi Passionfruit Guava: A trio of moreish and exotic tropical fruits
  • Fresh Mojito: Sugar, lime and mint meet in this refreshing cocktail puff
  • Fizzy Strawberry: Sweet strawberries are given a hint of additional candy sugar

Summary

The IVG PRO kit is a very impressive next-generation vape set up. It offers all the ease of a disposable and all the value and longevity of a rechargeable vape. It’s got a brilliant selection of flavours, though they’re only available in 20mg.

Fans of disposables will enjoy that strength, though others who are trying to reduce their nicotine intake may wish to look into slightly less powerful prefilled vape kits.

The MIST Favourite Feature:

Setup Is Easy: Snap the parts together, drop in the pod, and you’re ready to go! There are no buttons, screens, or settings to worry about—just puff and away!
