The prefilled pod era is upon us, and Pod Salt is up to yet another one of their crafty collaborations. This time, they’ve teamed up with Pyne Pod to provide flavours for the Pyne Pod 2-In-1 Kit, a novel approach to the prefilled device concept that promises to marry flavour variation with peerless portability.
I’ve been sampling the new Pyne Pod 2-In-1 Kit flavours this week. These arrive on my desk at a time when I am inundated with prefilled devices, so being new and fancy isn’t going to cut it. Having already sampled some fantastic prefilled kits recently, Pyne Pod need to pull out all the stops to stand out at this momentous turning of the vape era.

Packaging and Content
The Pod Salt Pyne Pod 2-In-1 Kit arrives in a rectangular cardboard box whose colour references the flavours.

- The front of the box shows the device in a centred picture, surrounded by text indicating the manufacturers, the device name, the 1500 puffs it delivers and the flavour of the two included pods. An anticipated TPD-compliant health warning is at the bottom of the box’s face.
- One side of the box gives a detailed diagram showing how to assemble the Kit within, beneath an authenticity QR code. The other side displays an exploded view of the two pods inside the device, beneath a “2 In 1” logo.
- The back of the box lists health warnings, ingredients and contact information for both Xyfyl Ltd and Shenzhen Ovanvape Technology Co. Ltd. At the bottom is another TPD health warning.
- The base of the box lists the expiry dates and batch numbers of the two pods within. I received my devices in early April 2025, and the box I hold tells me the pods within will expire in September of 2026. Batch number XY241014.

Inside the box, the device is held within a plastic wrapper, another wrapper containing the two pods, and a slotted mouthpiece into which they’ll be inserted. The box includes an instruction pamphlet and a card showcasing all available flavours.
The pods’ packet contains a silica gel desiccant to keep the juice fresh. Each pod has a sticker on the base to prevent damage to the metal connectors, and a thick rubber plug keeps the mouthpiece clear.
Build Quality
Score: 5 out of 5

The device is very comfortable in the hand, around the same size and shape as a ‘pen style’ disposable or refillable vape. It’s made from lightweight metal with a brushed matte effect, which is always nice for avoiding fingerprints and scuffs.

The pod assembly process is very initiative. It clicks together very satisfyingly, leaving no confusion as to whether you ‘did it right’. The mouthpiece on the pod is also very comfortable, with a thin yet wide opening that allows you to purse your lips around without issue.

The magnets inside the device holding the pods in place are also very sturdy, with no wiggle or looseness to worry about.
I have no complaints about the Pyne Pod 2-In-1’s design! It’s sleek, light, unassuming, and super portable.
Ease of Use
Score: 5 out of 5
It must be noted that a lack of extra features and functions, while slightly disappointing, results in a fool-proof device. The 2-In-1 is so simple to assemble and use that I straight-up cannot imagine ‘getting it wrong’. What would that even look like? Putting it in your ear?

Anyone unfamiliar with vaping will find the 2-In-1 very straightforward to use, and the multiple instances of assembly instruction diagrams ensure no one will have trouble putting this device together and using it.
Flavour
Score: 5 out of 5
There are ten Pyne Pod 2 In-1 variants available; I’ve been sent one of each unit so that I can sample them all. Each device contains two pods, resulting in twenty overall flavours. The devices pair complimentary flavours. Below is a list of every flavour pairing in the range.
- Berry Edition: Mixes Berries Ice / Blueberry Ice
- Blue Edition: Blue Raspberry / Mr. Blue
- Cherry Edition: Fizzy Cherry / Cherry Ice
- Lemonade Edition: Pink Lemonade / Blue Raspberry Lemonade
- Lime Edition: Lemon Lime / Cola Lime
- Mango Edition: Mango Ice / Mango Peach
- Mint Edition: Fresh Mint / Spearmint
- Pineapple Edition: Pineapple Passion / Pineapple Ice
- Summer Edition: Raspberry Mojito / Summer Punch
- Waterlemon Edition: Watermelon Ice / Strawberry Watermelon
Each pod contains 2ml of 20mg nic salt e-liquid, which usually approximates to around 1500 puffs before the pods are depleted.
Below are my reviews on my five favourite devices from the range, covering two flavours in each kit.
Lime Edition
Score: 5,000,000 out of 5

Ohhh, mama, that’s sour. The Lemon Lime pod is exceptional! A sweet lemon profile surges forth, surrounded by a vanguard of tart lime juice that screams sourly—a lovely and memorable take on the classic citrus tag team.
And I’ll admit I was apprehensive about the Cola Lime pod. A lot of manufacturers just go in a very obvious candy direction when brewing a cola flavour. But Cola Lime delivers a gassy and sparkling dark sweetness with a vibrant curl of lime burning verdantly through the whole process. It’s my favourite from the bunch, hands down.
Summer Edition
Score: 5 out of 5

I was intrigued to try this one first. Whereas Lime Edition and Mango Edition lead me to certain expectations, ‘Summer’ is a playful enough description to tempt me, so here goes!
The Summer Punch pod is as explosively sweet as you’d expect. I mean, I doubt you expected it to have a bouillabaisse flavour. No, Summer Punch is a vibrant mixed-citrus arrangement without too much lingering sugar, always a nice touch.
The other pod, Raspberry Mojito, has a lovely cooling element from when you puff. The rest of the flavour profile is an even balance between sweet mint leaf flavour and tangy raspberries, but not so tangy as to become sour.
Pineapple Edition
Score: 5 out of 5

I’ve grown very fond of icy pineapple flavours in recent months, so I was keen to try the Pineapple Ice! While I won’t say it’s the punchiest pineapple I’ve puffed, it has a lovely tropical flair and a very measured approach to ice that I approve of.
The Pineapple Passion, however, is the star of this particular duo, in my opinion. The tropical fruit taste blends so well with the sour notes of passionfruit, providing a delicious yin-yang of flavours.
Watermelon Edition
Score: 4 out of 5
The Watermelon Ice pod is remarkably natural—not at all what I was expecting! Usually, watermelon vape juice leans toward candy, but not this time. A sweet, woody rind taste at the bottom amidst the ice brings the flavour home.
The Strawberry Watermelon pod didn’t quite grab me in the same way. While the watermelon and strawberry flavours are nice and sweet, they’re a bit indistinct, and I wasn’t able to identify them super well. Still, it’s a sweet summery treat!
Cherry Edition
Score: 4 out of 5
The Cherry Ice pod has an old-school candy edge with a hint of what could be eucalyptus. The botanical aspect backs up the fruity sugar. The ice could have been a little stronger, which was slightly disappointing.
The Fizzy Cherry, however, is a real winner in my book and on my taste buds. It drops the botanical addition and adds what tastes, to me at least, like sherbert for the ‘fizz’. The result is a delightfully sugary flavour that compliments the cherries’ indulgent and fancy aspects.
Performance
Score: 4 out of 5
The 2-In-1 performs excellently within the context of a no-thrills simple kit. It’s a neat little slab of cool metal with no buttons or sliders to consider. Just puff and go.
So, why have I docked a point? Well, friends, it’s that old buddy of mine, ‘Airflow Adjustment’. I just don’t like seeing him get left out, you know?
Considering the kit allows you to switch flavours so easily by removing and turning the pod in place, they wanted to deliver a kit that offered something extra in the way of customisation.
So add a slider! Let me crank that wind-up and get cloudy with it!
That outburst aside, the Pyne Pod 2-In-1 Prefilled Pod Kit performs brilliantly.
Battery Life
Score: 3 out of 5
Finally, we come to a place where the Kit doesn’t particularly shine. The 2-in-1 Kit contains a 600mAh battery, which is around as large as most disposable vapes. Of course, the big difference is that the 2-in-1 can be recharged.
It charges from empty to around 40 minutes, which isn’t too long to wait, but it doesn’t quite suggest 2A charge speeds. Now, the Kit doesn’t use massive amounts of power to fire up the pods, so you aren’t going to run it down too quickly.
But in my opinion, the manufacturer could have invested in slightly better batteries to give you the peace of mind that a half-charged kit will last most of a day.
Summary
The Pyne Pod 2-In-1 Prefilled Pod Kit is a lovely little device with great flavour pairings and easy use. A longtime vaper might describe it as a little dull, but a vaper less interested in the minutia of kits will find it fun, easy and very tasty to use!
The MIST Favourite Feature:
- Pod Flipping is brilliant—genius, really. I’ve used a few multi-pod prefilled pod kits, but none have been quite so simple to use and change flavours with.
