ZOFO Proha Prefilled Kit Review

There are many different ways to design a prefilled pod kit, but none are quite as unique as the method utilised by ZOFO for their Proha Kit. I’ve had creaky plastic boxes you inserted bottles into, smooth matte slabs offering thousands of puffs, but never before have I encountered something… like this.

Now, ZOFO may not be the biggest name in vaping, but when I first saw the Proha Kit, I was immediately obsessed. I HAD to try this bizarre, bold, and incredibly creative approach to prefilled kit designs. But is it just a fad? Or a new style of vape we’ve yet to see, until now?

Packaging and Contents

The ZOFO Proha Kit arrives in a colourful cardboard box. The specific colours used depend on which collection of flavours is included with your kit.

  • The front shows a picture of the assembled device with info about the battery size. The 2% nic strength is listed at the bottom, just above a TPD health warning.
  • The sides list social media platforms and the device’s features, such as display animation and diverse flavour mixing.
  • The back lists specifications, ingredients, and manufacturer contact information.

Inside the box, we find a flavour card and instruction manuals next to two plastic wrappers, one containing the battery unit and the other containing the four flavour pods included. The pods contain rubber stoppers on their tops and bottoms to keep the juice fresh.

Flavour

Score: 5 out if 5

I’ve received three Proha kits from ZOFO, each with a different selection of flavour pods. The flavours received are listed below:

Kit 1

  1. Triple Mango
  2. Frozen Watermelon
  3. Ice Cube
  4. Lemon Lime

Kit 2

  1. Frozen Watermelon
  2. Ice Cube
  3. Frozen Pineapple
  4. Blue Razz Cherry

Kit 3

  1. Lemon Lime
  2. Menthol
  3. Pink Lemonade
  4. Sweetie

While there is some overlap between pods, there are nine distinct flavours in all three kits. The unique aspect of the Proha kit is crafting new flavour combinations through experimentation, but we’ll touch on that in the Performance section.

While going into detailed flavour notes about all 9 pods may be excessive, I can speak to the combinations achieved through the three separate kits.

Kit 1

Score: 4.5 out of 5

The majority of the pods have a delicious, cool zest, and the Ice Cube pod does an excellent job of providing an extra layer of frostiness. However, if you want to focus on the Triple Mango and Lemon Lime vibrancy without too much arctic distraction, the Frozen Watermelon pod provides a nice cool note that goes very well with the other two fruits.

Kit 2

Score: 5 out of 5

If the first kit had a cooling touch, then this kit is positively hyperborean in comparison. The Frozen Watermelon, Frozen Pineapple and Ice Cube are all excellently frosty, and when enjoyed together, they are an interior Winter Wonderland —sure to be a soothing balm in the upcoming summer months!

The Blue Razz Cherry deserves a shout-out here; while it’s not cool and frosty like its kit kin, it’s a rare instance of a blue raspberry/cherry combo that actually delivers a strong and memorable cherry flavour. Hats off for that!

Kit 3

Score: 4 out of 5

Now that’s interesting. While the first two kits focused on chilly notes to differing degrees, this kit leans far more into the sweet-treat territory.

The Ice Cube pod in both other kits is replaced by a ‘Sweetie’ pod, which, when tried by itself, produces a very basic and subtle ‘sugar’ taste, unique in its simplicity. This causes all the other pods enjoyed with it to receive an additional note of candy sweetness, delightful when paired with the sugary treat of the Pink Lemonade pod.

Build Quality

Score: 5 out of 5

Dear GOD! This is a well-built device.

Look, a prefilled pod kit is a prefilled pod kit. There aren’t many ways to make them seem unique, but ZOFO pulled it off in magnificent style. I have NEVER used a vape kit with such a novel yet effective design.

The hexagonal pods twist-click onto each other and the battery easily, as does the mouthpiece. The device is draw-activated, meaning it’s buttonless. And there’s something incredibly satisfying about the smooth exterior of the assembled device, with no nubs or buttons sticking out to ruin the silhouette.

The screen is also fantastic. It indicates how many pods are active as you puff through a simple animation and clearly notes your puff time and battery level.

I’m flabbergasted. How did no one else try this before? It’s bloody genius!

Performance

Score: 5 out of 5

Full marks for Performance, make no mistake. The auto-draw is quick and responsive, meaning you’ll never miss the absent firing button. And it’s just so unique! I spent ages swapping pods to try new, exciting flavour combos. Most pods are delicious when enjoyed alone, though the Ice Cube and Sweetie pods are only good when used to enhance other pods.

It isn’t just easy, it isn’t just fun. It’s… look, I don’t like using this word, but it’s revolutionary, okay? I said what I said.

Ease of Use

Score: 4.5 out of 5

I’m extremely tempted to give the Proha kit a solid five for ease of use, buuuuuuut… I do acknowledge that some users with arthritic or mobility issues may find the snap-twist pod method a bit arduous. While I enjoyed flipping through the pods, I appreciated that some would find the pods a bit stiff and brittle, which may cause discomfort.

That aside, the Proha is very simple to use. It’s draw-activated, generally easy to put together and take apart, and there simply isn’t much you can get wrong when using it, provided you have adequate grip strength.

Battery Life

Score: 4.7 out of 5

1000mAh is reasonable enough, in my opinion. It’s a mouth-to-lung kit, so it doesn’t require a massive bank of charge. I didn’t notice it depleting quickly when checking the displayed battery level on the display screen. Add to that the now-ubiquitous USB-C charging, and it’ll rarely be out of commission for long if you forget to plug it in.

Summary

The ZOFO Proha Kit absolutely blew me away. I saw this stack of colourful blocks and thought, “What the heck? ” But my initial scepticism has been utterly disintegrated. It’s easy to use, incredibly tasty, and fun to experiment with, and you’ve just never tried anything like it before!

The MIST Favourite Feature:

  • STACK AND SWAP!: Trying a new vape flavour is fun, and having swappable pods is even more fun! But being able to combine several pods into unique flavour combos? That’s unprecedented.
