Features We Love

Triple Threat

Three air inlets for maximum cloud production

Stealthy Sub-Ohm

Remarkably quiet ‘hiss’ for a sub-ohm tank

PnPerfection

Full compatibility with the excellent PnP Coil series

Voopoo has produced the best flavour-focused vape tank with the Uforce-L Tank, which, surprisingly, still uses PnP coils. The coils, which we found very easy to install into the tank, are available in a wide range of coil resistances. As a matter of fact, there’s even an MTL PnP Coil available.

The tank, however, is a little bit “top-heavy” on smaller vape mods. However, if you can get past the size, it’s an incredibly functional tank in regard to flavour and vapour production.

We are a fan of its heat-sink design, which prevented both mouth discomfort and coil damage when we set the mod to high wattage. There’s also a triple-inlet adjustable airflow that tremendously helped with producing large clouds while conveying the highest flavour concentration. And, the last remarkable feature is the surprisingly quiet turbo airflow system, which cuts back on the characteristic “hiss” that often accompanies sub-ohm vaping.

The Voopoo Uforce-L Tank is the best vape tank for flavour in 2023, laden with comprehensive features and approachable usability.

Pros

  • Great airflow design
  • Heat-sink build to preserve coils
  • Compatible with the entire PnP Coil series

Cons

  • Quite a large build
  • ‘Quiet’ sub-ohming is still noisier than MTL

Cloud Crown: Nothing does clouds like an RDA
Squeeze Please: Fully compatible with squonk mods
Postless Pleasure: Postless design for maximum workspace

Few sub-ohm vape tanks can provide the raw and direct flavour of a Rebuildable Dripping Atomiser (RDA), and the Geekvape Talo X RDA is one of the best you can get.
The Talo X RDA features a postless interior space, which, in simple terms, provides you with the maximum room in which to fit and install your DIY sub-ohm coils, of which you have space for two.

The extremely low-profile may be off-putting, but what you’ll get is more flavour because there’s less space for vapour to travel. The drip-tip is also made from Ultem, ensuring it won’t increase in temperature even when using the Bypass and TC modes on your vape mod.

The Talo X is also perfectly squonk-compatible, coming with a bottom-feeding pin included for those who prefer to squeeze their way to fresh juice, removing the annoyance of frequent bottle top-ups.

While RDAs aren’t intended for newcomers, they give invested vapers a way to experience the most enormous clouds and purest flavours possible. The Geekvape Talo X RDA is one of the best you can get, with simple fittings for your own coils and airflow settings that put control of clouds and flavour into your hands.

Pros

  • Postless deck for simple installations
  • Squonk-appropriate
  • Ultem components for temperature comfort

Cons

  • Not for beginners
  • Shallow profile drip-tip is not to all tastes

Leakless Life: Unique adjustable airflow reduces leaks
Honey Hype: Honeycomb breath inlets allow cloud customisation
TA Daa!: Compatible with the SMOK TA Mesh Coil series

While leaks are often unavoidable when vaping, SMOK put a lot of time into ensuring a mess-free experience when using their T-Air Subtank.

The most notable aspect of the leak-resistant tank is its airflow control, which is a unique honeycomb ring wrapped above the glass. The numerous inlets permit airflow and cloud control rarely seen in a vape tank, which also assists your air movement and general flavour carrying with every direct-lung draw.

The SMOK TA mesh coils are easily pushed into place, a significant advancement from SMOK’s classic screw-in mesh coil designs. Mesh coil elements and organic cotton wicks ensure a smooth, pure layer of flavour. It should be noted that the T-Air Subtank only has sub-ohm coils available, so if you prefer MTL, you should look elsewhere.

The SMOK T-Air Subtank provides a leak-proof design and a rich taste from every cloudy puff. However, those seeking a cigarette replacement setup may prefer something more moderate.

Pros

  • Maximum airflow control adjustment
  • Tight and compact build size
  • Leakproof airway placement

Cons

  • The mouthpiece is a little too wide
  • Exposed glass, somewhat fragile

Nout Better: Nautilus Coils provide 0.4ohm – 1.8ohm range
Sturdy Slider: Solidly constructed sliding top fill system
Lock It Down: Coil isolator lets you change coils mid-juice

We know that the Aspire Nautilus 3 is technically not new (it was released in 2022), but it can compete head-to-head with newer vape tanks when it comes to flavour production and coil availability.

As is expected, the Nautilus 3 uses the Aspire Nautilus Coil range. This provides many coil options, as the Nautilus Coils span a resistance range of 0.4 to 1.8 ohms. This allows you to use the tank as both an MTL and sub-ohm tank, making it compatible with most vape mods.

One fantastic feature that still impresses our team is the coil isolation chamber, which prevents e-liquid from escaping the tank when changing a coil. This allows you to change coils mid-juice, a vital feature that preserves coil life.

The tank also boasts a remarkably durable construction, showcasing Aspire’s usual steel & glass elegance but with a more rigid build. The sliding top-fill, in particular, is sturdy and won’t malfunction even with heavy use.

The tank does feature a wide design that may overspill some thinner vape pen batteries and, sadly, is quite heavy. But if you can look past that, the Aspire Nautilus 3 Tank is a superb piece of kit with coils that can suit any vaping need.

Pros

  • Robust range of Nautilus coils
  • Thick and durable steel build
  • Change coils without losing e-liquid

Cons

  • Cumbersome design
  • Occasional leak issues

Steel Wall: Sturdy metal panels covering glass
Stylish Sub-Ohm: Designed by Taifun, built by Aspire
Nice Coils: NiChrome mesh coils as standard

There’s nothing worse than a breakage getting between you and tasty vapour, and we feel that a steel-happy atomiser like the Aspire Atlantis GT Tank is a good choice for the more drop-prone vapers reading this.

The Atlantis GT features more steel than is generally seen on a sleek Aspire tank. The honeycomb-esque metal panels provide wraparound protection to the exposed glass of the tank, ensuring that a tumble is far less likely to result in smashed glass.

If the glass is broken, the Aspire provides you with a fresh pyrex glass ring, which you can install easily by disassembling the tank, a nice touch that admits even armour plating can’t defend against every accident.

The tank premiers the new Atlantis SE Coils, a considerable part of what makes this an excellent tank for flavour. The Atlantis SE mesh coils use NiChrome as standard instead of kanthal, which can be vaped at very high intensity without losing effectiveness. This ensures long-lasting flavour from each mesh coil.

The Aspire Atlantis GT Tank is a great tank for flavour fans suffering from butterfingers!

Pros

  • Unique NiChrome used for mesh coil elements
  • Durable glass protection
  • Comfortable and unique mouthpiece

Cons

  • Very chunky build
  • Bottom airflow may result in leaks

MTL FTW: 0.8ohm and 1.4ohm MTL coils
Chunk Funk: Comfortingly bulky steel rings protect the glass
Long Draw: Default tapered mouthpiece aids MTL vaping

Lost Vape are ordinarily associated with chunky, mighty sub-ohm mods, so we were a little suspicious of the UB Lite Tank’s purported MTL functionality. We’re happy to have been proven wrong!

The UB Lite Tank sports a default tapered mouthpiece, which perfectly suits cigarette-style vapour draws. The tank is compact, with chunky wrappings of bulky steel ensconcing the glass protectively.

Inside the tank, UB Lite mesh coils atomise e-liquid evenly, with flavourless cotton wicks imparting no impurities upon your flavours. 0.8ohm and 1.4ohm MTL coils are available, and there’s even a 0.4ohm one for those who want to use it as a sub-ohm tank.

Sadly, the airflow settings are directed towards MTL vaping, so sub-ohm tank use isn’t optimal. However, the Lost Vape UB Lite is an excellent choice if you require a compact, rugged, and tasty MTL vape tank.

Pros

  • Organic cotton mesh coils for improved flavour clarity
  • Tough and durable MTL vape tank
  • Slightly recessed glass is protected from drops

Cons

  • No sliding top refill
  • Sub-ohm coils are not helped by restrictive airflow

Cheap: Affordable than most vape tanks
Acrylic Acclaim: PCTG plastic construction
Z-Type: Compatible with the Innokin Z / Zlide Coil series

Innokin always has the new vaper in mind, and the GO Z Tank gives even new vapers on a tight budget a means to start vaping in earnest.

Coming in under a fiver, you’d be forgiven for mistrusting the Innokin GO Z Tank. But a closer look reveals a tank that reduces manufacturing costs to provide a comprehensive piece of kit at a bargain price.

The first thing you notice is the acrylic build. Maybe not to all tastes, but remember that PCTG is more robust than ordinary plastic, and a selection of vibrant colours is available. One unexpected advantage of the acrylic build is that it allows you to gauge your e-liquid levels from any angle.

The GO Z Tank is compatible with the Z-Coil / Zlide Coil series, with many resistances to pick from and featuring top-quality materials that deliver a rich and clear flavour.

Despite being a cheap tank, the GO Z does include a sliding top-fill mechanism. You may want to treat it more tenderly than you would when using the Aspire Nautilus 3 Tank, but it’s still a delightful surprise from a tank that costs less than two coffees!

The Innokin GO Z Tank is the best vape tank for sweet juice fans looking for a new tank that combines affordability with effectiveness. Just be sure to handle it gently!

Pros

  • One of the cheapest tanks in the world
  • Acrylic design provides transparency for juice gauging
  • Sliding top-fill system despite low price

Cons

  • Acrylic can be fragile
  • Excellent, but very much a budget tank

FAQ

How do you get more flavour from your vape tank?

There are several ways to ensure greater flavour from your vape tank.

Steep your e-liquid overnight to bring out a deeper, more potent flavour. What is steeping? A simple way to improve e-liquid flavour is by letting it breathe.

Is a higher ohm better for flavour?

Technically, yes, though personal preference will dictate some of your feelings on which kind of vaping tastes better.

Higher ohm coils put up more of a fight against the power surging through the heating element, resulting in less vapour. High PG and 50/50 vape juice is usually recommended for these kinds of coils, with a high PG content leading to greater flavour production.

The moderate vapour production also produces a more concentrated taste hitting the tongue rather than a cloud ‘diluted’ by the excessive airflow of sub-ohm tanks.

Is sub ohm better for flavour?

The best sub-ohm tank options with low-resistance coils deliver more clouds. However, the flavour produced is effectively the same as MTL vaping, yet more dispersed.

To flavour purists, sub-ohm vape tank use can feel like spreading too little jam over too much bread, robbing you of a concentrated taste experience. But as you can see from the list above, the best sub-ohm tanks are still incredibly flavoursome. If you’d like your tasty puff to have a cloudy aspect, check our recommendations for the best sub-ohm vape tank.
