What is an electronic cigarette?

An electronic cigarette is a device that imitates an ordinary analogue cigarette by providing the user with nicotine through inhaling it. One main difference is that there is no combustion of tobacco products which means that by law, electronic cigarettes can be used in public places, which include restaurants and cinemas.

How does it work?

An electronic cigarette works by the user inhaling on the electronic cigarette which causes the atomiser to turn on and heat the e liquid. The atomiser converts the e liquid into a vapour so that the user can inhale it. As this happens, a water based vapour is also released from the e liquid to resemble smoke from an analogue cigarette. This water vapour has no risk to the user or anyone around them.

What is in the e-liquid?

The main ingredients in e-liquid our: liquid-nicotine, flavourings and propylene glycol. Propylene glycol is the main ingredient to provide the vapour that is exhaled like smoke from an ordinary cigarette. If you would like a full list of ingredients, please email us!

What is Propylene glycol?

Food and Drug Administrations have recognised it as being generally safe. It is also used in many other ways including as a moisturiser in medicine and cosmetics and as a food additive to keep the product moist. E-liquid does not contain the thousands of other dangerous chemicals in ordinary cigarettes such as arsenic and carbon monoxide.

Is it safe to use an electronic cigarette?

Although the electronic cigarette is a relatively new device which has not gone through large amounts of clinical trials to prove that there is no long term effects caused by an electronic cigarette or e liquid on the user, the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recognised propylene glycol to be “generally safe”. To add, propylene glycol has no evidence that it is a carcinogen (cancer causing). None of the ingredients in e liquid have been found to be carcinogenic, unlike regular cigarettes.

What are the health risks about nicotine?

Nicotine is a poison in its raw form and it is important to take care in handling-liquid to ensure you do not get any on your skin. If you do get e-liquid on your skin, wash the area of skin thoroughly straight away. If a large amount of e-liquid spills on your skin, wash straight away and consult your doctor. Nicotine is not a proven carcinogenic, which means it does not cause, or tend to cause cancer. However, it is addictive and very dangerous in its pure form.

Is it true that I can smoke the electronic cigarette anywhere?

In the UK, the use of electronic cigarettes is currently unrestricted by law which means that you are allowed to use an electronic cigarette anywhere. Within the smoking ban that is currently taking place in a number of countries, ‘smoking’ is defined as “smoking refers to smoking tobacco or anything which contains tobacco, or smoking any other substance and smoking includes being in possession of lit tobacco or of anything lit which contains tobacco, or being in possession of any other lit substance in a form in which it could be smoked.” This means that anyone using an electronic cigarette is not breaking the law as electronic cigarettes do not contain tobacco, is not lit and does not produce smoke.

How should I store my e liquid?

E liquid must be kept in a dark, cool, dry place and avoiding excessive sunlight which can damage the e liquid and discolour it. If left for a long period of time, and may help to shake the bottle to gain back the full flavour and throat hit.

Are there any reasons you should not use the electronic cigarette?

Electronic cigarettes should not be used by anyone who falls into one more of the following categories;

  • Anyone under the age of 18
  • Anyone allergic to nicotine or nicotine based products
  • Anyone who suffers from heart disease
  • Anyone with high blood pressure
  • Anyone with a weak immune system
  • Anyone pregnant
  • Anyone allergic to propylene glycol or any other ingredients in e liquid

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

All orders will be sent out within the next 2 days from purchasing. All orders are sent first class with Royal Mail, so all UK orders should be with you within 3 days. Please feel free to e-mail to find out about when your package has been sent out. All orders outside the UK should be with you within 7 days.

Can I return anything I have brought from www.mistEliquid.co.uk?

Orders can only be returned if they are unopened and the seal is not broken. This is purely for hygiene reasons. If sealed, you may send back the product for a full money refund, including shipping costs. Or, you can choose to select another bottle of e liquid of your choice. If we have sent the wrong products, please email us within 7 days to receive your chosen bottle of e liquid.
